| AMORPHIS: Πλούσια δισκογραφία εξαιρετικής ποιότητας! |
Οι melodic death metalers Amorphis κατάγονται από την χώρα των χιλίων λιμνών, την Φιλανδία. Το συγκρότημα δημιουργήθηκε το 1990 από τρεις μουσικούς, τους Jan Rechberger (drums), Tomi Koivusaari (rhythm guitar) και Esa Holopainen (lead guitar), οι οποίοι παραμένουν ακόμα και σήμερα στο συγκρότημα, ως βασικοί συνθέτες. Αυτό αποτελεί το σημαντικό και κύριο συστατικό της επιτυχίας της μπάντας που δεν είναι άλλο από την σταθερότητα, η οποία προεξοφλεί την ποιότητα (που υπάρχει σχεδόν) σε κάθε άλμπουμ που έχουν κυκλοφορήσει.
Στο ξεκίνημα οι επιρροές του συγκροτήματος ήταν καθαρά death metal, γι' αυτό οι πρώτοι δίσκοι των Amorphis κινούνται ηχητικά στο death metal, με το "Tales From The Thousand Lakes" να θεωρείται πλέον ιστορικό, εισάγοντας τα πρώτα καθαρά φωνητικά στη μουσική της μπάντας και δημιουργώντας τον πρώτο σπουδαίο σταθμό της καριέρας της.
Στη συνέχεια της πορείας τους εξέλιξαν τον ήχο τους και σε μεταγενέστερα άλμπουμ κινήθηκαν σε progressive και folk metal ηχητικά τοπία.
Τους στίχους των τραγουδιών τους αντλούν μέσα από το Kalevala, το επικό ποίημα της Φινλανδίας.
